The 18th Annual Golden Community Rodeo series is back!!!

Come enjoy the 2 night Golden Community Rodeo Series at the Clear Creek Whitewater Park in downtown Golden, CO.

EVENTS Week 1: The first freestyle competition will be Wednesday, June 26th at the Clear Creek Whitewater Park in Golden. The comp is open to all kayakers, including C1s, of all skill levels . Participants will be grouped into appropriate categories based on their age, gender, and skill level - typically Junior, Sport, Intermediate, Expert, and Masters Divisions for both men and women.

EVENTS Week 2: There will be a fun downriver race for all crafts on Wednesday, July 10. No registration is necessary. Simply show up prior to 5:30 on competition day to sign up for a category.

Come have some fun or come cheer on the kayakers!
TIME: Registration begins at 5:00pm each Wednesday. Competition starts at approx. 5:45pm.
LOCATION: Clear Creek Whitewater Park, 1201 10th St, Golden, CO 80401
COST: Admission to compete in the series is free. However, you must be a current Colorado Whitewater member for insurance purposes. Renew or sign-up online or at the event for only $30, which includes entry to all three events and a one-year membership to Colorado Whitewater. See Coloradowhitewater.org for more info.

Duane Redford - The Perfect Drift - Feb. 7th, 6pm

GRS welcomes Duane Redford to the shop on Thursday February 7th at 6pm. He will be presenting "The Perfect Drift", as well as signing copies of his two books and spinning a few bugs.

Duane is a guide for Minturn Anglers, a Montana Fly Company signature tyer, and the author of "The Fly Fisher's Playbook" and "Hidden in Plain View: Recognizing the Obvious & Exploiting the Obscure in Fly Fishing." As a retired teacher and coach, Duane has a unique, systematic approach to the river that he has used as the basis of his guiding for the last twelve years. This systematic approach, derived from guiding countless days on highly pressured, technical waters, has been refined over time, and is easily understood.

Free Tying Demo - Juan Ramirez (The Hopper Juan)

Montana Fly Company Signature Tyer and Colorado guide Juan Ramirez (aka The Hopper Juan) will be at Golden River Sports Saturday, January 19th at 11am. Juan will be spinning up some of his signature patterns and sharing how he fishes them! This is a free seminar and seating will be limited.
