Free Movie Nights at GRS are back again this month with a focus on Exploration! Join us for a TRIPLE FEATURE on the big screen on Thurs., Jan. 18th at 6pm for the party! Our main feature will be "Frontier: A Rush Sturges Film" along with "Wild Water" and Torryd's own "Xenogenesis III"! As always, tasty beverages will be supplied but feel free to bring your own too!
"Frontier: A Rush Sturges Film" - Following the success of 2010's best selling and award winning DVD "Dream Result", River Roots returns with the follow up film "Frontier". This project highlights the same crew traveling to new rivers and even harder waterfalls across the planet. The film puts a strong emphasis on exploration and progression in the sport, highlighting some of the hardest whitewater ever paddled. Featuring footage of Rafa Ortiz and Aniol Serrasolses's 128.6ft waterfall descent of Big Banana Falls in Veracruz Mexico.
"Wild Water" - Wild Water is a journey into the mind and soul of whitewater, into the places only river runners can go - places of discover, solitude, and risk. The film focuses on a handful of people who share a deep passion for wild places, rivers, and running whitewater. It encourages a deeper look into the heart of adventure sports and what they mean to us as a practice and that they are about far more than just fun. When ordinary people share a singular passion, the extraordinary emerges.
"Torryd's Xenogenesis III" - Join the young bucks from Torryd as they explore the Class V rivers of British Columbia. From waterfalls to narrow creeks these boys show some of the best waters our friends to the north have to offer!
